Company History
Incorporated in 1998, (formally, Achievers' Network, Inc.,)
My Learning Chest, the company, is based in Richmond, Virginia.
My Learning Chest.com was established to provide solutions for
elementary teachers who are often overwhelmed by the demands of
students' behavior in the classroom.
...Later, My Learning Chest.com expanded to offer smart-behavior solutions to
Parents.
My Learning Chest.com offers confidential access to individualized
solutions for behavior and cognitive concerns. Research based
teaching and learning practices, professional expert advice,
reflective thinking techniques and learning tools, are available
on My Learning Chest.com to guide the elementary teacher toward
workable solutions for his or her day-to-day encounters with
diverse student behavior.
Our company's founder, Virginia M. Smith, developed the
mission to assist elementary teachers with student behavior
concerns in the classroom, after teaching in the field
of early childhood, elementary, and higher education.
As Adjunct Professor, at Virginia Commonwealth University,
teaching in the Department of Teaching and Learning,
she witnessed the need for additional real-time guidance
in understanding the characteristics and patterns of
behaviors exhibited in real-time by students in the
classroom. Technology was the vehicle that could be used
to provide the real-time guidance requested by elementary
teachers. The divide between theory and practice was evident,
and it needed assistance in closing.
The idea followed the need, and technology became a part
of the solution. After careful assessment and evaluation
of the process that allowed this new solution to be a
workable solution, Ms. Smith moved forward with the
on-line project. With great focus on our on-going mission;
to continuously improve the ways we educate ourselves and
others, My Learning Chest.com was successfully launched.
Our company's hands-on products assisted in accomplishing
the mission of nationally recognized public, private,
and community based organizations. Each organization works
